1. Hagrid

If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, then this may be perfect for you. This can also serve a basis for any other character you like. This one requires a little bit of artistic ability. You are going to first want to sketch out the design that you want to create, and then scan it for digital editing.

Then, open it up in Photoshop and detail the drawing, making sure that you have a high-resolution picture as it is going to be printed. Color it in as you wish, and then copy-paste the picture into a Word Document. Print it using a laser printer.

Cover the image completely using tape, and then cut it out. Take the sticker and put it under water, then remove the image carefully. Wait until the image completely dries, and you’ll have your very own Hagrid sticker!

This is best for if you want a budget-friendly project that will also include things that you probably already own, or that you could find easily.

You’re going to need to get white vinegar, any type of white glue, a design of your choice, a brush, a jar, packaging tape, a straight edge, a small spray bottle, and scissors. You’re going to mix the glue and vinegar at about a 2:1 ratio. This creates a really strong adhesive.

Take the tape and lay it out flatly on top of the images, which will allow them to have a nice glossy effect. This is a simple and easy way to make any type of stickers that you want.

8. Car Decal Stickers

If you want to add a special touch to your car, this is an easy way to do so. A lot of people like to personalize their cars and include decal that suits their tastes or says a little something about them.

First, get some vinyl sticker paper, toothpicks, a vinyl cutter machine, contact paper, a knife, and rubbing alcohol.

Once the picture has been printed, cut out all the unnecessary parts of it. Cover it with contact paper so that you can stick it to your car, but before doing so, clean off your car using rubbing alcohol. Take off the contact paper and push down on the sticker so it adheres well. And viola!

A side note: if you choose to take off the design at any point, use a hair dryer to help it come off easier.

Other Ideas

Anyone who has a passion for stickers knows what it’s like to have a deep need to make your own. Luckily, making DIY decals is easier now than it has ever been. Through the use of the internet, you have access to companies that print and ship your creations to you. If you’d rather stay at home, there are several ways to create using just a few supplies and a printer.

Finally, for the expert crafters, there’s technology available to help you give life to the best decals possible in your very own abode. No matter your preference, there’s a way for you to build what you love.

Your Laptop

To make your own DIY laptop decorations, all you need is some plain clear vinyl and a bit of inspiration.

You can either draw out your design on regular paper or pick the images you fancy off of the internet. If you choose to browse the web for sticker-worthy images, you’ll need to print out the designs on regular printer paper.

Now that you have a physical copy of your art, tape it to a table or flat drawing surface to keep it from moving around.

Lay the clear vinyl over the top of the design, and secure it with tape as well.

Now you’re ready to trace your designs onto the vinyl using sharpie markers. Once you’re done, just cut out the image with scissors or an x-acto knife.

It’s a good idea to leave about 1/8th of an inch around your design so nothing gets cut off. All that’s left is to stick it on and use a credit card to work any bubbles out from under the design. Congratulations, you’ve decorated your laptop with decals you made.

Cricut

With the “Cricut” machine, you can create premium stickers at home just like the professionals.

The Cricut maker comes with special software for your computer, in which you can design any sticker.

Then the design is sent to their specialized machine, that utilizes vinyl to print your designs in top-quality.

The Cricut machine also cuts your stickers so that they’re perfectly trimmed and ready to be stuck on, or sold off. This machine is truly a pro’s dream.

At Home

Creating custom stickers is easy, and you don’t even need to leave your house. With the use of vinyl inkjet cling paper, you can print designs at home with your printer. It’s as easy as drawing your designs, inputting the images onto your computer, and then printing as many as you want.

The best part is, if you’re not very artistic, you can simply download images off the internet that appeal to your tastes. Just be sure you’re only using them for yourself so you don’t get into any copyright trouble.

If you want to try out another method, you can also make your mark at home using plain clear vinyl. See the first section of the post, labeled “Your Laptop”.

With Packing Tape

Did you know that packing tape can be used to create custom stickers? All it requires is high-quality packing tape, an inkjet printer, regular paper, and scissors. You probably already have all the supplies to create beautiful stickers right now.

The process is simple. First, print the designs you’d like to transfer, put a strip of tape evenly over the design, cut out the shape of the sticker, and run a spoon roughly over the image to ensure it transfers.

Then put the designs in water, let them soak for an hour, and peel the paper off the sticker. Once the tape dries, it’ll be ready to decorate anything.

Online

The business of online sticker making is huge, with lots of reputable companies ready to help you make your own designs.

The websites “Sticker You” and “Make Stickers” both claim to have easy editors to help you build your own design, and they both let you purchase any quantity and size you would like.

Other popular printing sites that can help you create custom stickers are “Ps Print” and Vista Print. They offer more professional looking templates if you would like a higher-quality look, or if you’re promoting your business.
